Greetings, Everyone! And welcome to the continuation of Ouray HS B BSKT, 2022-2023, beyond Districts!
This year's post-District play-off competition has a different Regionals format than years past. Instead of the #1 and #2 finishers from a particular district cross-bracketing with the #1 and #2 from a neighboring district to form one Regional for State qualifying opportunities, this season, the RPI numbers are used to create a pool of 32 teams that are invited to the show! There will be four teams at each of eight Regionals.
Ouray is one of those 32 teams, at exactly #32! So we get the chance to lace 'em up again and do battle with #1 Belleview Christian, who will host one of the Regional tournaments at their campus gym in Westminster: 3455 W. 83rd Avenue - Westminster, CO 80031.
Plans are being made for travel, lodging, and meals, and coaches, players, and parents will be informed accordingly.
Friday, March 3
5:00 pm - #32 Ouray vs. #1 Belleview Christian
7:00 pm - #17 Pikes Peak Christian vs. #16 Wiley
Saturday, March 4
1:00 pm - Championship
1. Since the Belleview gym is fairly small, they are allowing 30 minutes between games for game 1 fans to clear out and game 2 fans to enter prior to the opening tip.
2. More details will be available tomorrow regarding ticketing (online purchasing through GoFan) gym entry, parking, locker rooms, etc.....
IMPORTANT: Gym doors open at 4:15pm for BCS and Ouray players and staff only. Wiley and PPCS will be allowed entry into their locker room at 5:30pm but must remain in their room until halftime of game 1. Teams will be allowed normal "court time" during that game. Spectators for BCS vs. Ouray will be allowed entry at 4:30pm. We will clear the gym out after game 1 and allow entry to Wiley vs. PPCS fans immediately following the end of game 1.
