Higher Education Admission Requirements (HEAR)

	4 year Colorado Colleges, Universities & Military Academics
English	4 years
Science	3-4 years At least two years must be lab based. Biology Chemistry Physics
Math	4 years Geometry, Algebra II and two higher levels beyond Algebra II
Social Studies	3 years At least one year of US or World History
Foreign Language	Minimum of 2 years of the same language
Electives	Music, Art, Technology, Business

28 credits are required for graduating from Ouray High School.

3.0 credits	Mathematics (Geometry, Algebra II and one credit math elective)
3.0 credits	Physical Science, Chemistry and one science elective)
3.5 credits	Social Studies (Geography, World History, US History, Government .5)
1.0 credits	Physical Education
2.0 credits	Humanities
1.0 credits	Foreign Language
1.0 credits	Business
1.0 credits	Technology
0.5 credit	Health
8.0 credits	Electives

AP/College Concurrent Courses:

Ouray High School continues to make every effort to expand the Advanced Placement and Post-Secondary Options college course offerings. Students enrolling in AP courses need to be aware of the demanding course requirements. A score of 3, 4 or 5 on the final AP tests may qualify for college credit (depending on the university’s standards). Students are responsible for 100% of the cost of the test which must be paid prior to ordering the exam. Students enrolled in college classes must meet the requirements set forth by the participating college.
