On October 28, 2026 the 8th grade students will participate in taking the PSAT 8/9. This test is designed to give feedback on your student’s strengths and areas for growth early in the school year to help facilitate growth. The questions are appropriate for students in the 8th and 9th grade and tests’ reading, writing, and math skills. It is not a part of state-required testing but is a good comparison to other schools that also opt into this test.
The eighth grade year has a large number of assessments, and it is the last year of the cycle of traditional CMAS tests. With this in mind, Ouray School remains committed to student success and high school readiness. We provide students with a simple overview of the exam, and students do not need to do anything else to prepare. The test is taken in a single sitting with a short break between modules. Traditionally, our students have scored very well.
